The Consultative Forum Meeting is hosted by the Asia Pacific Fisheries Commission as a regional forum for agreeing on actions needed to adapt to the merging challenges to fisheries and aquaculture in the Asia-Pacific region. The prime focus of this meeting is to look at the promotion of effective arrangements for managing fisheries and aquaculture in the region.
APFIC invites you to be part of this process. Participation in the meeting is discretionary, however we are encouraging broad participation so please contact us if you wish to join, there is no charge for participation, although you will have to arrange your own travel and accommodation costs

APFIC will be holding its Second Regional Consultative Forum Meeting to precede its Thirtieth session. The Commission believes the RCFM and the linked Session will assist in strengthening APFIC’s role as a coordinating body by transferring and exchanging information and experiences to assist Members address emerging issues in fisheries and aquaculture in the region. Members will work together to develop and agree on ways of implementing policies and action plans to address these issues. The outcome of the RCFM will be used to inform the direction of the Twenty-ninth Session of APFIC.
The RCFM 2 is scheduled for 6-9 August 2008 and will be followed by the Thirtieth Session of APFIC, 11-13 August 2008.
