The Fishmeal Information Network (FIN) is an information resource and a source of contacts for fishmeal, its supply chain and its role in the nutrition of farm livestock.
FIN aims to present fact-based information, independent evidence and respected expert opinion on fishmeal and its use. It recognises the imperatives of safety in the food chain, healthy diets, animal welfare and protection of the environment. FIN is an initiative of GAFTA, the international Grain and Feed Trade Association which represents more than 800 suppliers of fishmeal, other animal feed ingredients, grain, pulses and rice in more than 80 countries.
FIN’s activities are guided by a Steering Committee on which suppliers, and GAFTA’s executive are represented.
The International Fishmeal and Fish Oil Organisation (IFFO) is the international non-profit organisation which represents fishmeal and fish oil producers and related trades throughout the world. IFFO’s vision is to enhance human and livestock health and welfare via superior nutrition to the benefit of consumers worldwide.
A globally respected Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), IFFO has specialised consultative status with the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO).
IFFO members represent nearly two-thirds of world production plus around 80% of fishmeal and fish oil exports worldwide. IFFO's goal is to act on behalf of the fishmeal and fish oil producers and their trade associates throughout the value chain in order to strengthen the global standing of the fishmeal and fish oil industry. In so doing IFFO aims to be a respected service partner, adding value to the global industry and ensuring it is better informed, more profitable and more sustainable.
