This site contains references to legal texts, WTO decisions and many other resources and commentary that will be useful for fisheries professionals seeking more informaiton on how the fisheries trade is affected or influenced by WTO.

FAO and Infofish have launched a new website to inform countries in the region about trade related isssues in import and export of seafood products. Besides general information about trade there is a regulary updated database which will provide easy access to trade statistics, regulations, market trends, price information, country profiles etc.

GLOBEFISH is the unit in the FAO Fisheries Department responsible for information on international fish trade. The core of GLOBEFISH is the GLOBEFISH Databank. GLOBEFISH produces a number of publications including fish price reports (European Fish Price Report), market studies (GLOBEFISH Research Programme) and trend analysis (GLOBEFISH Highlights).

GLOBEFISH is an integral part of the FISH INFOnetwork and performs a co-ordinating role in the Network activities.The FISHINFONetwork (FIN) consists of 7 independent intergovernmental and governmental organisations plus the FAO based GLOBEFISH unit, situated in the Fisheries Department of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the UN (FAO).

Created to assist the fishery sector particularly in developing countries and countries in transition, the network provides services to private industry and to governments.

The execution of multilateral and bilateral projects is one of the main activities of the network. It is also widely known for its range of publications and periodicals as well as for the organisation of international conferences, workshops and training seminars.

WHO WE ARE
INFOYU is the Chinese member of the FishInfoNetwork with its base in Beijing and operating center in Shenzhen. INFOYU was established by the Government of China with assistance from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN in 1997. The FishInfoNetwork (FIN) consists of 7 independent intergovernmental and governmental organization those INFOPESCA (South and Central America), EUROFISH (Eastern and Central Europe), and INFOSA (Southern Africa), INFOSAMAK (Arab countries), EUROSFISH (Eastern and Central Europe), and INFOYU (China), plus the FAO based GLOBEFISH unit, situated in the Fisheries Department of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO). FishInfoNetwork supplies timely, accurate and unbiased information on international fish markets and fish trade to FAO member countries, governmental agencies, universities, research institutions, private company and individuals.
